Sometimes...
Sometimes I don't feel social, so I don't talk to my friends.
I feel like a loner sometimes, but I don't mind, because I haven't been the greatest person to have a conversation with.
Most of the time, my friends don't come up to talk to me, so I feel sad.
But I almost always don't care, because I know that I won't really know what to say because my mind feels muddled lately.
I still love & treasure each of my friends though.
I am so blessed with the amazing friends I have.
I'm sorry if I've had the chance to say "hi" to you, but never did. I'm sorry if I've never seemed sincere about a compliment.
Life is rough, but I'm doing my best to keep hold of Christ's hand.
There are days when I feel like He is the reason why I function.
Those days are often.
I am so grateful for friends like Him.

Woah, it's a Double-Braid All the Way Across Her Head... So Intense
Haha, I hope you got the title. That YouTube video is ridiculous, but I think it's hilarious.
Today is Sunday, one of the best days of the week! Here's the hair:
Double-braid into a sloppy bun. And I have made a tutorial! I've tried uploading it like, 5 times, but it made no progress in a long time, so I'm going to have to post it later.
Anyways, church was good, I made lunch (the usual macaroni and cheese with Ranch Style beans), wrote a letter to my sister, and cooked dinner. It was this tortellini yumminess!
It looks like puke, but it was actually amazing! I love cooking, especially when it's good food! In case you couldn't tell, there's bacon in it. I had to cook it and then tear it up. My older bro. helped me with shredding the bacon. But while we were doing it, I couldn't help but have this song stuck in my head:

Meh...
I felt like poop today, despite the amazingness of last night. So my hair was in an ugly sloppy bun. AKA I put my hair into a bun and didn't put any bobby pins in to make it look cute in a sloppy way. And I had my bangs secured in a cute bow headband thingy I found in the drawer. I wore my PJs all day, not caring if I went out or not, but would have been happy if someone randomly showed up just to say "hi". So, I'm just going to post a pic of a hairstyle I did for a benefit concert over Christmas Break.
There was this pretty head piece thing that went with the shirt (I call it a shirt because it was way too short to be considered a dress) costume we wore. I put it on the left side, but my mom said that she couldn't see it because it blended in with my hair. I wish I took a pic with it in my hair, but my phone was dying, so I didn't.
Here is me and a few of my homies in action. I felt like this was my best time performing it.
The concert itself was amazing! All of the performers did amazing, including Brooke White! It was a great night :)

Winter Formal: Jazz it Up!
OK, Winter Formal yesterday was AMAZING. I went to bed really late stressing out about Winter Formal, and I thought I was going to sleep in really late, but I didn't because my siblings jumped me. Let's just say that they did not wake me at 6 AM. Whew! So, ya, my mom and I went to JoAnns to get some stuff for my dress. Then we were at Payless 20 minutes before it opened, so we went to Target. I gasped in surprise when I saw size 13 shoes, and was freaking out about the fact they had oxfords in my size (We didn't get them, because they weren't a color I wear that often). We drove all the way across the street back to Payless and we walked in as soon as it opened. They were having a sale, so not only did I get shoes for Winter Formal, but I also got black sandals. Halla! Shoes are great. Oh ya, and we got flowers at Safeway for the boutonniere and corsage.
We got home, I blow dried my hair... put my hair in hot rollers... mommy fixed the weirdness of the sleeves... I did my make-up... mom made me put on my unfinished dress on with my purty silver shoes, and walk around the house showing my siblings the prettiness. I was so tired of changing out of my dress into sweats that I just wore it to my cousins (to drop off the flowers so that my aunt can make the flower stuff), and to my grandparents so that my grandma can finish the dress. My grandma did my hair in a french roll, and she did an amazing job.
Looks 20-ish, right? Hehe :)
Unfortunately, my hair fell out during one of the last songs, so this is what it looked like when I got home:
Anyways, I was a little late to my friend's house to do her hair, but I got it done! I poofed her bangs, poofed her hair, braided hair from the sides, pinned them with sparkly bobby pins, and curled the rest of her hair. It looked so cute!
Because I don't have my license and because there was no room in my friend's cars for me and my date, he came and picked me up.
This is the second time my whole life I had to do this and I failed! haha
This face says it all: "Eeeee! This is hard and scary!"
And of course, the guy gets the easy part: Slide a pretty corsage on the wrist.
We met up with another couple in the group to take pictures. After a lot of pictures, another couple showed up.
Funny moment! We were posing for a picture when we heard someone scream behind us. Two thoughts crossed my mind: 1) Someone got injured really bad 2) Someone in our group showed up. It was neither of those. It was a group of elderly people. The man who screamed said "Sorry, I was just trying to get you guys to smile!" We asked them to take a pic with us, and they did. It was awesome!
We took more random, goofy pictures than serious pictures. For example:
Copyright: C. Jones :)
None of the other couples showed up, so that stinks for them :(
We drove to my friend's house for dinner, where the rest of the couples were. We had a potato bar, salad, and chicken noodle soup. Yum! For dessert we had this delicious chocolaty-minty-cheesecake stuff. There were laughing wars, and chatting, and quoting Kid History. It was fun :)
Here's a pic of the whole group before we left for the dance :) I love fedoras.
The dance itself was amazing! The place was beautiful! For almost every Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus song, we explored the gardens outside. Besides that, we danced every song! Mostly hustle. I taught him basics and a few simple moves and then he would make stuff up! It was epic yet tiring! So it was good that they played songs we disliked, because we got to have a breather! Haha. The DJ called the guys up to do a dance-off, and if it wasn't for the guys who can robot dance and break dance, I think he should have won! It was fun watching them dance though :) We were both so wiped out! The bottoms of my feet hurt, but the dancing was worth it!
I would say that overall, Winter Formal was a success! :D If you go to my school, how was your winter formal? :)

Pre-Winter Formal Stress
I forgot to take a pic of my hair today. Pretty much, my bangs were twisted back and there were three sloppy buns in the back. It kept falling out from all of the dancing I did today. I had ballroom, then right after ballroom was lunch (AKA dance rehearsal), and right after that I had dance. I was sooo wiped out! I need to stop going to bed so late...
But ya, I'm pretty much stressed out about Winter Formal tomorrow. My dress is not done yet, I do not have any shoes to go with it, I have no idea what is going on with rides, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with my hair. Well, I want my bangs out of my face, and all my hair up. Ahhhh! I do not like stress that is like this. It is no fun. And then tonight my siblings and I were watching over our younger siblings and they started crying because they were tired, and it just gave me even more stress. Oh man, I cannot wait for tomorrow night...
Here's the bright side: I thought that auditions for regionals is going to be Saturday, as in the day after tomorrow, but it's not; it's next week. Woo-hoo! :)

Hermoine Hair
I slept with my hair in four french braids last night, because lately, I've been sleeping in late & therefore don't have enough time to do something to my hair before I leave for school. Actually, I don't care much about spending a lot of time on my hair. But you know how I feel about plain old ponytails... Anyways, I took the braids out and ran my fingers through my hair to make it all blend. My mom asked me "Are you going to be doing something with your hair?" I said "No... Just french-braiding my bangs." She said "Oh.... it's really big."
My hair has seen bigger. Just look at this pic and you'll know what I mean:
Behold, the human poodle!
Today was a pretty good day. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad happened. Ooh! I found this recipe on Pinterest for a smoothie and it's really good! 3 oz. of vanilla yogurt, one frozen banana, 1/4 c. of milk, 1/4 c. of peanut butter. I blended a few ice cubes in it too. Yumacious! :)

Weird School Day
Hi! I am not feeling great right now. But here's what I did with my hair today:
I consider this a fail. I love this idea, got it off of Pinterest. But when it comes to hairstyles, there are two important points: 1) Cuteness & 2) Sturdiness. Despite the crooked sloppiness of this, I would give it a 6 out of 10 on the cute scale. On the other hand, it did not stay in even though I hardly did anything crazy today. See? This was nothing compared to what it looked like in back.. Oh, and that's my dear friend K. She's a sweetheart :)
Oh well, better luck next time.
FACT
Boys are not worth crying over. At least in high school, that is. And mourning over the loss of a loved one is like this:
That's all folks. THE END.

Happy Civil Rights Day!
Today was a very relaxed day for me! I only did like, two things of importance today, but I'll get back to those in a second. Now, I should be doing a two page narrative for English, but I can't really think of anything I should write about (as I'm writing out my life story on a blog). Haha, SO ironic...
Because I didn't have any plans with friends, I just didn't care much about looking cute today. So my bangs got poofed back & hair got thrown into a neatly arranged rat's nest:
Do you like how this pic is composed? I'm using the rule of thirds :) (So, not only do you get to learn a thing or two about hair reading this blog, you get to learn about photography! Yay!)
So, my cousins came over today. They just moved back after years. :) We had a BBQ for lunch, and I gorged myself. Ugh, overload on junk food! I realized 2/3 through my hamburger that I forgot to put on onions. Silly me! I did enjoy the last third of my hamburger. It's not complete with onions! (Not raw, btw. Cooked with fancy spices. I was the one who had to cook them. Man, was I crying from the joy of being kindly bestowed by my mother the task to cook them!) Unfortunately, I did not sleep well last night, so I napped most of the time they were here... But hey, at least it won't be months until I can see them again, right? I love them :)
Meal planning with mom... lalala. I was looking at recipes on Pinterest when I overheard the following conversation:
Older Brother: "Mom, what's for dinner?"
Mom: "Ummm, I don't know... Bag it, we're getting Taco Bell for dinner. The kitchen is clean."
Haha, I'm glad she asked me to do the dishes this morning. Actually, not really. Only because of the fact it's even more unhealthiness, BUT what made me happy was that the Beefy Crunch Burrito is back! Oh my, one of the best creations of MSG filled fast food!
Right after Taco Bell we went to the movies to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It was beautiful! There are some parts that I realized when watching it on a big screen with good sound. Like, the part where Cogsworth is telling Beast things that he can give to Belle. "Oh, the usual, flowers, chocolates... promises you never intend to keep." LOL (Literally). Childhood story! Growing up, at the part after Beast tries asking Belle politely to join him for dinner I always thought he said "What does she expect me to do, BAKE???". I only realized about a year ago that he says "beg" not "bake". Hahahaha. I was deaf or something as a child :P Ugh, I just love this movie! Especially the end when he turns back into a human. I'm usually not a fan of long hair, but goodness, he's attractive! And you can't go wrong with those eyes. As one of my friends would say, he is "something spicy!" haha. You know what I realized? Beauty and the Beast is probably one of the only Disney movies where they actually say that they love each other. Mind blown? Yes.
Now to do my homework... Whoo! Good thing I had Dr. Pepper! (Hopefully it works)

It's Sunday Awesomeness!
Happy Sunday everybody! I hope y'all had a great time at church! I certainly did! Amazing lessons today :) My mom substituted for my Sunday School class & gave a great lesson on Lehi's vision of the tree of life. Just a random little fact that I learned in Anatomy: If you cut the cerebellum in your brain, or any brain, I believe, in half, it looks like the tree of life!
(By the way, that's a sheep brain) Isn't that cool??? So therefore, subconsciously and/or consciously, we should have the tree of life a.k.a. God's love on our mind! Literally! It's so cool.
Now that I've grossed you out, I'll cut to the chase. Hair:
My bangs were all crazy wavy from the way my hair was yesterday, but I did not feel like poofing them. I get a little tired of doing that with my bangs. So, nothing too complex. Just teased hair, braided it to the side, put on a ribbon to hold back my bangs and voila! And for the record... Sloppiness is OK, just as long as it's a cute sloppy! One of these days, I'll show you what I mean, with pictures!
Now, something that I learned from "My Yellow Sandbox" (the blog I talked about earlier) is this: You do not have to wash your hair every single day! It's not good for your hair, to sum it up. I usually go 3-4 days without washing my hair. Still take showers, just put your hair in a shower cap or something. One way to keep your hair from being so greasy from the natural oils your hair produces is to brush it every night before you go to bed! Abby, the girl who writes the blog, explains it so much better, & I don't want to take all the words directly from her. But that's what you can do in a nutshell :)
Have a great evening! :)

Family picnics, Cinderella dresses, and Dances
OK, so, if you're listening to the playlist I have on here, pause it and look up "Coldplay Paradise (peponi)" and it should be the first one. One of my friends told me about it & oh my goodness, it is seriously one of the most amazing-spice things I have ever heard in my 17 years!
Anyways, Saturdays are days when we do chores around here. So, I braided my bangs out of my face and put my hair in a sloppy bun.
Ta-da, like that! It was the same yesterday, just a different method of doing a bun, so technically, it wasn't the same. :) After working, yadda yadda.... Safeway.... lalalala (Yes, I talk like this in real life), I (yes I) drove to the park for a family party. It was a lot of fun! They replace the big tire swing that could fit two fully grown girls (AKA, me and my younger sister Anna), with a puny one that I could barely fit in. LAME! But we had fun.
Well, when I got home from that, I joined two of my sister in the bathroom to make our hairs purty for the night. As usual, I was the last one in there. I mean, Look at this! Doesn't that hairstyle look like it will take forever???
I'm just kidding. That's my hair in the process. Fooled ya :) This is how it turned out:
I <3 volume, and braids :) That is a french braid, but it is way not how you think it is done. Just watch 1:05 to about 3:10 in this video and you'll know what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5Cwl2f1Nes
Isn't that GENIUS???? My goodness.
Why did I do my hair like this? Well, to go to a dance of course! Now, if you don't know me, and there is a chance you don't, I LOVE LOVE LOVE dancing! Including ballroom dancing! They teach it at my school, and there was a lot of people there who knew how to ballroom dance. I was literally dripping sweat. Ya, a little gross. But it was worth it! I'm not gonna lie, I do love to dance with guys who can ballroom dance, but I also love doing the "deacons shuffle" and chatting with guys who don't know how. It doesn't matter if we just met or if we already know each other, just as long as we're having a good conversation :) I only danced with one guy I didn't know and he was a foreign exchange student. Haha, I felt stupid because I didn't notice his accent until he told me. It was great though! :)

About Hi-Lites of My Hair :)
Hi, there! How is life? I hope it's fantabulous! (I make up words, so you'll need to get used to it.) Well, most of you are reading this because you're one of my many friends on Facebook who love the hairstyles I do, sooo this is a little weird to me. I don't know why, so don't bother asking. :) hehe.
Don't you love the title of this blog? I came up with it on top of my head. I think it has a ring to it.
So, I'm one of those people (probably the only person) who dislikes having their hair the same way two times in a row, or two times a week for that matter. It's almost like wearing the same outfit two times in a row, in my opinion.
Let's rewind to a year ago... *record scratch* I wore my hair in a ponytail almost every single day. To be honest, I felt disgusting then, and I feel disgusting thinking back. But anyways. I remember that I had to ask my mom to french braid my bangs for me, or sometimes do two french braids into a ponytail. So, I was dependent on other people to do cool stuff on my awkward hair. I never thought that in a matter of months, I would be independent. My aunt told my mom, who told me, about this blog called "My Yellow Sandbox", where this lady was doing a 30-different-hairstyles-in-30-days challenge. She did some things that I never imagined up before, and I practiced on my own hair. It was very awkward and time-consuming at first, but now, I am fluently fast at doing my hair. The rest is history. Since then, I've discovered an ah-mazing thing called Pinterest. Ya, Pinterest is amazing. Ya, you know...
But I've decided to make a blog to document the different hairstyles I do every day. :) Maybe even give hair tips and stuff. I don't know, I think it will be fun. :)
Here's the first hairstyle: Half-Up Bow
Please excuse the nasty quality as this was taken by my phone. To my Facebook friends, I know this was not how my hair was today, but let's face it, this is more brilliant. This was a few weeks ago for like, the funnest date EVER. It was a Christmas scavenger hunt :) And to be honest, besides the fact I was wearing contacts, I felt pretty, thus a little more confident to do the various fly-one-mile-out-of-your-comfort-zone tasks we had to do.
Sing "Jingle Bells" with a stranger, for example. It was the second-to-last task we decided to do. We asked like, 5 people and they all gave us weird looks and said "no" until we asked Bob the greeter. He was awesome, and so was my date. :)
Another thing we had to do was sing "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" while wearing a red nose. Ya... More awkward than you would think. I still need to figure out a way to put phone videos that are longer than 30 seconds on my computer. The video is just great, hahahaha.
I love half-up hairstyles. I wish I did them more often, Oh well. What dost thou think? Is this worthy of a tutorial? :)
